Leader en automatisation industrielle au Québec

History

1987 - Company founded for the design and programming of electronic cards.

1989 - First industrial automation contract is signed. AIA was selected to provide control engineering for the construction of a thermo mechanical pulping plant in Baie Comeau Qc. This mandate propelled AIA towards its current orientation.

1992 - An important contract was signed for a control system in Saudi Arabia which allowed the firm to get thru the economic crisis and to even add personnel. This marked the arrival of young engineers who will eventually become the current owners. This same year AIA joined an important group of construction companies. A partnership agreement (Solution Provider) was also signed with Rockwell Automation.

1994 - The pulp and paper sectors are a very fertile ground for projects. It is the secondary treatment epoch. AIA adds more engineers to its personnel.

1998 - AIA Automation opens an office in Laval to cover the western clients of the province.

1999 - With the importance of work quality at the forefront, AIA put in place its quality assurance program ISO 9001-2000.

2000 - A major change in the shareholders: the founding president leaves. A new shareholding is put in place. The diversification of its activities becomes a priority.

2001 - AIA Automation receives the Rockwell Software Strategic Provider Achievement Award.

2002 - Creation of a Servo and positioning department.

2004 - Addition of an industrial information technology department. This department distinguishes itself with custom application design. A partnership agreement with WonderWare (System Integrator) is signed.

2006 - In order to provide a wider range of services, AIA obtains its general contractor’s license from the RBQ.

2008 - Addition of a mechanical design and machine safety department.

2010 - A partnership agreement is signed with Sylob for the resale and integration of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Registration and validation by NSF-ISR for the ISO 9001:2008 standard is completed.

2011 - Today, AIA Automation has 35 persons. It works in manufacturing and industrial sectors.
